Submissions

Thank you for showing your interest in Otranto House! Run by writers, we understand how important your work is to you, and how daunting it can be to send it to strangers. To make the submission process a little easier for you (and us), we have some guidelines we request authors follow when you send us your work for consideration....

1.  Please only send the first 3 chapters (or the first 50 pages) of your manuscript. If we like what we read, we'll be in touch to request the full work for further consideration.

2.  Make sure to include a cover letter that gives a brief synopsis of the story, a little bit of information about you, and why you think Otranto House could be the right fit for your book.

3.  Double-spaced or single-spaced manuscripts are fine, we will accept both.

​

4.  Please only submit the initial chapters of a manuscript that has been completed.

​

5.  Finally, please make sure you've proofread your work before submitting it to us. It might sound obvious, but you'd be surprised!

​

Please keep in mind that we are a small operation, and while we endeavour to get back to you within two weeks, sometimes it might take longer for us to respond. We may also decide to only take on new submissions over a certain period throughout the year to help manage our schedule more effectively. If this is the case, we will let you know and tell you when our next submission window will be.
